Steve Talbot

Steve is a Chartered Engineer with broad experience in technical, commercial and management roles. Following a career in the defence industry, he has been working with early-stage tech start-ups since 2012.

He has been a "startup CTO" in many forms: interim Chief Technology Officer, co-founder and consultant. In each case, the challenge is often the same: recruit a team to turn a new idea into reality, using an appropriate technology architecture, good engineering principles and a culture of high-quality problem solving.

As part of his start-up journey, Steve has supported equity investment raises and grant applications; guided two different companies through the startup accelerators at Cambridge Judge Business School and Startup Bootcamp Fintech London; architected software products; created open-source software libraries; and mucked in with just about anything imaginable within a small company.

Steve holds a first-class MEng from the University of Cambridge, and postgraduate management and leadership certificates from the University of Lancaster and Cardiff Metropolitan University. He is chartered with the Institution of Engineering and Technology.
