Autodialler API
A telecommunications API for the security industry, to deliver messages by voice call.
While e-mail and text message can be reliable ways to deliver non-urgent messages, there is no way to know whether the recipient has read those messages. However, some messages require urgent action. The sender might want an indication of whether the message was received by a real person, rather than just having arrived at their mobile phone or computer.
Our client was developing a product for the security industry. They asked us to create an API-based service, which could deliver an arbitrary message to a customer by telephone, using a voice call. We integrated various services to automatically translate the message into the appropriate language, convert it from text to speech, phone the customer, play the message and detect whether the phone was answered by a real person or voicemail.
